Staszek Nogaj is an artist in his profession. He built the first hurdy gurdy for me exactly according to my tips and instructions in details, with great contact and constant cooperation with me. It was a masterfully made instrument that has a soul and which surprises me every time I play. I feel like it is alive  and respond to a musician….  I thoroughly recommend him.

Stach’s hurdy gurdy’s are undoubtedly the best constructed instruments in Poland. Stanisław not only uses the enormous treasure of his experience gained by working with master Stanisław Wyżykowski, but also looks for new solutions based on the latest violin making techniques around the world. His persistence to build the best instruments combined along with my search for my own unique sound makes Stanisław’s instruments have a completely individual character. Technically his work meets the highest requirements while maintaining a specific and unique character. These instruments inspire – they have a soul!

The hurdy gurdy from Master Staszek Nogaj is my third instrument, the previous two were old historical instruments. Staszek’s hurdy gurdy (lyre) is the instrument that I am the most content and pleased with. I use it to interpret early music, as well as to play the traditional folk repertoire of itinerant singers. It is also an essential part of my worldmusic and alternative music projects. This is my favorite instrument for solo interpretation.

High technical quality, accurate and precise aesthetics, as well as technical capabilities are criteria that fully satisfy me. I have been using the lyre almost every day for several years and it serves me perfectly. It is incredibly tuned and sounds fantastic.

The hurdy gurdy that Staszek created for me is definitely an instrument of my life. In my search I was looking for an instrumental companion for my voice for a long time. Lyre is with me at vocal workshops and concerts – from music reaching its roots to a rock band. It even supported the Scorpions team in Poland! And it sounded beautifully in the stadium :). What impresses me most about this particular instrument is the fact that it is absolutely contemporary – it can be found in any musical genre. It sounds deep and clear.
Every time I take the lyre out of the case and after a slight tuning (sometimes it does not even require tuning) I can just go on stage. The whole electronics is also very well made – the instrument I have as my own has built-in 4 microphones, perfectly collecting all the strings.
